Born and raised California Girl, McKenna attended California State University, Chico. It became clear immediately that scenic design was her niche, eventually leading her to design and assistant design several main stage shows over the course of her undergraduate career.

She graduated from CSU Chico with a degree in Theatre Arts, with an emphasis in Gender Studies (and ALMOST a double minor in Applied Computer Graphics and Political Science, but who’s counting?!) And made the big move to New York, NY in 2013.

After almost three years at the incredible Robin Hood Foundation, a large non profit in Downtown Manhattan, McKenna began work with Konduit, Inc, a set fabrication company in Long Island City responsible for building sets and props for TV, Film, Fashion shoots, and specialty events throughout New York.

She worked full time with Konduit as a Drafts Person and Project Manager coordinating shoots and events throughout the city and state for four years before returning to California to pursue her MFA in Design and Technology for Theatre, Television, and Film at San Deigo State University.

McKenna graduated with her MFA in 2023 and is currently working as the Manager of Design Execution at Blue Heron Homes, a luxury custom home fabricator in Las Vegas, NV in the Interior Design Division.
